About Me

Hi, I’m Georgie — an ultramarathon coach based in Calgary, and a lifelong lover of running long, exploring limits, and helping others do the same.

I am an export from the UK, and now a proud Canadian citizen, who loves being outside and playing in the snow, sun or whatever the weather! I love running, hiking, backcountry skiing in the mountains.

Some describe me as an outdoor nut, which is probably true. I have always played sport and after I had my two sons, I started to run. Since then I have completed loads of different races from 5k to the infamous Marathon des Sables, UTMB, Divide 200, Tahoe 200 and many more.

If I am not out running with my dog Louis and Eddie, then I am staring at a map working out where to trail run this summer!

My Story

My story and a bit about why I love running...

"I saw this race, the Marathon des Sables which is 250k over 6 days in the Sahara in Morocco. If you've not heard of it, it’s a self sufficient race where you carry all your own stuff with you. I saw this race and for 15 years I thought oh that would be amazing to do - it was the adventure, I think. But I never thought I’d do it, I never thought I’d get in - I never thought I’d be able to do it.

However situations change as they often do and it coincided with a very good friend of mine who struggled with mental health issues and he actually took his own life. It was very sad and that was the instigator for me. I decided I was going to run this for him, really. I took two years to train and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

Every part of me would ache, I would be crying in training and it was tiring, it was so much. I’d be carrying my weight on my back. But the thing was that I remember when I got to the last day and I was standing on that sand dune and I was looking across to the finish line and I never thought I would ever see that finish line for my life but I did. And I finished that race and I had that medal but most importantly I had the memories of that race because that’s what it’s about.

That’s what really instigated my love of running and my love of running long. I understand the commitment it takes and the training it takes and I would love to help you reach your running goals or fitness goals. I would love to help you out so give me a call, contact me and I’d love to hear your story and hear how we can get you to your goals."
